Sentosa’s Revamped Landscape: What’s New on the Island
Sentosa Island in Singapore is undergoing a remarkable revitalization, with new entertainment offerings and attractions contributing to its transformation into a vibrant and diverse destination. The latest developments include The Palawan @ Sentosa, Shangri-La Group’s first standalone lifestyle and entertainment precinct in the world, as well as three new beach clubs, all of which are set to enhance the island’s appeal to visitors.
The Palawan @ Sentosa
The Palawan, which officially opened its doors recently, is a groundbreaking venture by the Shangri-La Group. Situated along Palawan Beach, this expansive entertainment precinct covers an impressive 183,000 square feet. It offers visitors a variety of leisure experiences, including:

- HyperDrive: A three-level electric go-kart circuit, promising thrilling races and excitement.
Additionally, The Palawan will introduce two new beach clubs:
- Splash Tribe: A family-oriented beach club featuring a sandcastle-themed wet play zone and an infinity pool.
- +Twelve: A beach club that offers 12 cabanas with private plunge pools, as well as a main pool with a swim-up bar.

Scheduled to open on Siloso Beach on September 1st, the Tipsy Unicorn Beach Club is a significant project by the Tipsy Collective, a well-known hospitality group recognized for its heartland venues. This expansive beach club spans an impressive 19,000 square feet, along with a 5,000 square feet outdoor area. It boasts 500 seats and has the flexibility to host large group parties and special celebrations. Much like its sister venues, Tipsy Unicorn will feature live bands, adding to its vibrant and dynamic atmosphere.
These recent developments follow the 2022 launch of the Central Beach Bazaar complex on Sentosa Island, which introduced various attractions such as grab-and-go street food, Sentosa SkyJet (the tallest fountain in Southeast Asia), and the Sentosa Musical Fountain, which transforms into the outdoor show Wings of Time after sundown.
Upcoming Projects
Sentosa’s transformation doesn’t end here, as there are more exciting developments on the horizon:
- Raffles Sentosa Resort & Spa: Expected to open in the fourth quarter of 2024, this will be the second Raffles property in Singapore. The resort will offer 62 contemporary villas, each featuring a private swimming pool and terrace.
- Sentosa SensoryScape: Currently under construction, this two-tiered walking thoroughfare will connect Resorts World Sentosa and the island’s southern beaches. Costing $90 million to build, it’s designed to be an experiential sensory public park with vessel-like structures containing gardens to stimulate the five senses. The project is set to be soft-launched in the first quarter of 2024 and represents the initial phase of the Sentosa-Brani Master Plan, which will unfold over the next few decades.
Sentosa Island’s ongoing transformation and the addition of these exciting entertainment precincts and attractions reaffirm its status as a premier destination in Singapore, offering a diverse range of experiences for both locals and tourists alike. Whether you’re looking for thrilling rides, relaxing beach clubs, or immersive sensory experiences, Sentosa has something to offer everyone.
