From free light shows to riding a Sampan around the mall, Marina Bay stands out as an iconic landmark in Singapore with plenty to see and do.

This integrated resort in the heart of Singapore’s Marina Bay precinct is renowned for its striking architectural design, luxurious amenities, foodie galore and arts.

Ride a Sampan Around the Mall

This is a truly one-of-a-kind experience, only in Singapore! Instead of gondolas along the rivers of Venice, board a beautifully crafted sampan inspired by Singapore’s heritage, which will take you on a leisurely journey through The Shoppes.

You can opt for three different rides, starting with a simple Sampan boat ride for S$15 per person. Join the Eye of the Waterfall Tour for S$18 per person, where you can take in the sights of Rain Oculus, a magnificent indoor waterfall and skylight located inside MBS. Lastly, go on a musical journey where you get serenaded by talented sampan singers and learn to play percussive instruments with the Sampan Musical Voyage for S$25 per person.

This family-friendly ride typically lasts 30 minutes and offers a serene escape from the bustling mall atmosphere. It’s available daily from morning until late evening.

Light Show Spectacle

Every night, the Event Plaza (right outside The Shoppes) transforms into a visually stunning spectacle. Witness Spectra – A Light & Water Show, a free 15-minute light and water show. It features synchronized fountains, lasers, and video projections that tell the story of Singapore’s journey to becoming a global city.

Get there early to secure the best seats; it’s best viewed from the waterfront promenade. Make sure to fully charge your phones and cameras, so you’ll have enough battery to capture all the dazzling sights.

Showtimes:

Sun – Thu: 8pm & 9pm
Fri & Sat: 8pm, 9pm & 10pm

Shopping and Culinary Delights

Explore The Shoppes at Marina Bay, a luxury shopping destination. Find iconic luxury stores like Chanel, and Apple, alongside local boutiques offering unique Singaporean products. Don’t miss out, visit the world’s only floating Louis Vuitton boutique, providing a one-of-a-kind shopping experience against the stunning backdrop of Marina Bay.

Maison Boulud by Chef Daniel Boulud

Once you’re done shopping, you can indulge in a diverse array of dining options at MBS. Splurge at fine-dining establishments by world-renowned chefs like Daniel Boulud, Wolfgang Puck, Gordon Ramsay, and Tetsuya Wakuda, or opt for local flavours at their hawker-style food court offering popular Singaporean dishes. End the night savouring cocktails with a view at one of these rooftop bars; Ce La Vi Skybar & Club Lounge, Lavo Italian Restaurant & Bar, or Spago Bar & Lounge.

Embracing Art and Nature

The ArtScience Museum is a beacon of creativity, innovation, and cultural exploration. It has housed many immersive exhibitions and continues to be the place to host unique local and international exhibitions.

Ideal for visitors of all ages, the ArtScience Museum encourages hands-on exploration and learning. Bring your family along for a fun-filled day!

Current exhibitions: Future World: Where Art Meets Science, Goddess: Brave. Bold. Beautiful., Frida Kahlo: The Life of an Icon & Laid Bare: Frida’s Inner World,

If you’re up for a more scenic escapade, visit Gardens By The Bay. A short walk from The Shoppes, you’ll be transported to a picturesque horticultural treasure trove. Walk around the gardens for free, and stay till night (7.45pm and 8.45pm daily) to experience light and music at Supertree Grove.

Add Cloud Forest and Flower Dome to your list, too! It’s a must-see while you’re visiting Gardens By The Bay. They regularly update their exhibitions, ensuring there’s always something new when you visit. Don’t forget to check their website for the latest ones.
