Unfavorable weather can put a damper on your holiday plans, especially if you’ve organized outdoor activities. InterContinental Singapore offers a solution to make the most of inclement weather with their Rain Resist Bliss Package. This unique rain insurance package provides eligible guests with a voucher equivalent to the rate of a one-night stay if their plans are disrupted by rain during their visit.
The package, described as a “first-of-its-kind rain insurance package” on the hotel’s website, has gained international attention. It is exclusively available to guests staying in Junior Suites, One-Bedroom Suites, Royal Suites, Ambassador Suites, and Presidential Suites, with rates starting from S$850 per room per night.
Andreas Kraemer, the hotel’s general manager, shared with CNN that the idea for the package emerged during a discussion about the future of luxury travel. The Rain Resist Bliss Package utilizes rainfall data collected by the National Environmental Agency Weather Station to automatically determine voucher eligibility, eliminating the need for guests to provide their itineraries.
Vouchers are activated when rainfall exceeds 120 cumulative minutes within any four-hour period between 8 am and 7 pm. For instance, if it rains from 4 pm to 5:30 pm and again from 6 pm to 6:30 pm, guests are entitled to a voucher.
This exclusive package is available for a limited time, and vouchers must be redeemed within six months from the date of issuance.
