Night At Orchard Bazaar is making a comeback this Good Friday
The beloved bazaar, Night At Orchard, is making a comeback this Good Friday after a four-year break. Orchard Road Business Association (ORBA) announced in a press release on March 21 that Night At Orchard will once again enliven the pedestrian walkways of Orchard Road, starting with a three-day event from 3pm to 10pm.
This marks the beginning of a series of 10 monthly events showcasing emerging local and regional brands, jointly organized by ORBA and events agency INVADE.
Scheduled for the last week of each month, the event will revolve around different themes ranging from wellness to pets to sustainability. For the March edition, visitors can anticipate over 50 booths stretching from Wisma Atria to Ngee Ann City, featuring food and beverages, retail and lifestyle brands, workshops, and games.
One highlight is the participation of Nine.N, a local minimalist furniture brand, which will host games where participants compete to change the cover of their Kaiteki recliners as quickly as possible. Other attractions include homegrown businesses like The Ice Cream & Cookie Co., The Ink Book for temporary tattoos, semi-permanent tattoos, and digital tattoos, and Naked Glory offering vintage watches.
ORBA also plans to introduce more brands from around the region, such as Loma.Whale from Bangkok’s Chatuchak Market, known for its Thailand-sourced linen and cotton apparel and accessories.
Future editions of Night At Orchard will showcase creative brands from Malaysia, Taiwan, and Korea, extending beyond Orchard Road’s main stretch to include pedestrian walkways from ION Orchard to Ngee Ann City, and from Forum The Shopping Mall to Wheelock Place, according to ORBA.
Mark Shaw, ORBA Chairman, emphasized the importance of supporting Singapore’s burgeoning brands, especially amidst a growing number of young entrepreneurs in various sectors. He expressed regret over the event’s suspension in 2020 due to pandemic restrictions, noting the enthusiasm from both vendors and attendees during its successful launch in 2019.
