The Chinese New Year of 2024 will herald the arrival of the Year of the Dragon, bringing with it a wave of dragon-themed festivities. Among these exciting celebrations, a dragon-themed drone show will light up the night sky at the Marina Bay precinct during six evenings in February 2024.

Entitled “The Legend of the Dragon Gate,” this drone show narrates the mythical story of the Dragon King, a beloved figure in Chinese mythology. Each captivating performance spans 10 minutes, featuring a remarkable assembly of 1,500 drones.

The show will take place at 8 pm on February 6, 10, 11, 16, 17, and 18. Following this mesmerizing drone spectacle, “Spectra – A Light & Water Show” will grace the evenings at 8:30 pm and 9:30 pm on the same dates. Do note that the event on the 6 February has been postponed to 10 February.

This waterfront drone exhibition represents one of the collaborative efforts between the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), Marina Bay Sands (MBS), and UOB, all aimed at enhancing the vibrancy of the Marina Bay precinct for both local residents and tourists alike.

As outlined in a press release, this partnership seeks to synergize marketing endeavors among these three entities, creating a compelling tourism narrative to entice visitors. Furthermore, as part of this collaboration, various promotions will be offered, including discounts on hotel stays, attractions, retail, and dining experiences.

UOB cardholders in Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam can access special rates at hotels that offer prime views of the drone light show, such as MBS, The Fullerton Bay Hotel, and Mandarin Oriental Singapore. Additionally, renowned attractions like Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay, Gardens by the Bay, and Singapore Flyer will feature exclusive deals. Dining privileges will also be available at restaurants in MBS and the surrounding area.
